Award-winning author Allan Wolf visits the Peace Center
December 16, 2014
Renowned poet and performer Allan Wolf visited the Peace Center, December 3 – 6, 2014, as part of the Peace Voices program. Wolf conducted poetry performances, school residencies at the Meyer Center and Stone Academy and a poetry writing workshop at the Peace Center. This residency impacted 530 students, teachers and families in our community.
As an award-winning author, Wolf's mission has always been to take his love of poetry to the people while writining and presenting full time. Allan has a vast repertoire of over 1000 poems committed to memory, spanning Shakespeare, Dickinson, Poe...Clint Eastwood...and Elvis. From the moment he steps onstage or into the classroom, Allan's lifelong passion for words, energetic performance and teaching style is contagious. A veteran traveler through the many worlds of verse from public poetry slams to public schools, salons to saloons, Wolf is always ready to spin out a stanza or two, often with great comic wit and wry wisdom . . . and maybe a guitar riff as well.
