Phillip Wilder
Dr. Phillip Wilder is an Associate Professor of Literacy at Clemson University who received his doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction at the Project Narrative: Arts Integration Institute University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2013, where his work through the Center for Education in Small Urban communities established an impactful school-university partnership supporting collaborative teacher inquiry and adolescent disciplinary literacies. His research explores the intersection of disciplinary literacies, the arts, and socially just pedagogies in the hope of creating more equitable schools. Dr. Wilder currently serves as a faculty-in-residence at Dr. Phinnize J. Fisher Middle School where he partners with teachers to improve adolescent literacies within STEAM disciplines. Dr. Wilder partners with the Peace Center’s Arts and Literacy Initiative, a program designed to promote and motivate reading through the performing arts.
